A pair of laceback carpenter pants made of a 14oz denim from nihon menpu. This denim was shedding so much indigo just through the construction process.

The fit on this pair of jeans is inspired by carpenter pants from the 40s and 50s, with a high rise and super loose legs. The pocket setup came from a more modern, but still vintage, pair of carpenter pants made in New Bedford MA by Madewell.

Those pants feature all flat felled and triple stitched seams, along with a raw iron button and vintage Mark zipper. The buttonhole is hand sewn. Finished with chainstitch hems and copper rivets.

As always, these were made on antique foot-powered machines, a 1921 Singer 31-15 and a 1913 Willcox and Gibbs domestic chainstitch.

PLEASE NOTE: the pockets are a little short on this pair, hence the slightly lower price. I don’t expect too much shrinkage from this denim if hand washed cold - maybe a half inch to an inch in the waist.
